The Direct Subsidy Scheme (DSS) an initiative of Education Bureau of Hong Kong Government to improve the education standards in private schools. This scheme has been introduced in 1991-1992. The Hong Kong government aims to enhance the quality of education at non-government secondary schools by offering subsidy. Under this scheme, the schools will have freedom to choose their curriculum, fees, and entrance requirements.
